Q: What made you want to run for office?
Jonathan: I have always believed that regular people can make social change. When I was a high school government teacher, I tasked my students with this charge and asked them to design and implement passion projects that fit that ideal. After 3 contentious election cycles, and the damage being presented by Project 2025 and the 2nd Trump Administration, I decided it was my time to enter the arena. I believe that as a civic minded person who has worked in political science as a teacher in this community has me poised to be a force for good in this uneasy time to help right the wrongs and bring about a better community for all of us.
Q: What are some specific things you would do if elected?
Jonathan: Protect our aquifers and waterways including Wallkill River and Glenmere Lake Resevoir ensuring proper ecological protections and clean drinking water for all residents. Establish a county-wide on-demand car service for our seniors, veterans, and job seekers who have limited transportation options so our sick can get to the doctor and our underemployed can engage with the job market. Reform the county growth plans to establish more sustainable living so that future generations can find work where wages surpass the cost of living in this county.
Q: What has been your favorite experience in your campaign so far?
Jonathan: Going door to door to canvass and petition is amazing. I love engaging with each and every constituent to discuss their needs and get to know our amazing neighbors more each day which helps plan policy and facilitate change.
Q: What are some of your campaign plans going forward?
Jonathan: Host 1-2 more fundraisers prior to the election, build a base of volunteers to help knock doors and promote the campaign, grow followers and engage on social media, and blitz the district with signs, phone banking, and peer to peer contact.

(We had 3 editions) You may even stumble upon my podcast on Spotify and Apple Podcasts where I promote and highlight teachers in Goshen School District – both of these are tangential but relevant because in the podcast I spend time highlighting others and uplifting others is what I plan to do as a legislator.
